FNEDC’s mandate is to establish bio-energy complexes that will include co-gen operations and ethanol plants along with co-products such as corn oil (extracted from the ‘germ’ prior to fermentation), DDGS, DWG and CO2, plus possible combinations of bio-diesel, fractionation of chemicals, a technical training school and green houses. Each bio-energy complex will include as many of the components as is appropriate for the specific site. We will strive to use every aspect of the feedstock as well as aim for 0% effluent discharge. While feedstock will vary by location (e.g. sweet sorghum, corn or small grains) depending on the primary feedstock grown in the particular area, we are exploring multiple feedstocks to ensure long-term flexibility and economic viability. FNEDC is committed to promoting local Economic Development; helping local farmers; as well as bringing about job creation for adjoining communities and First Nations.
